Kim Kardashian has pledged to take legal action against In Touch Weekly and New England Patriots football player Bret Lockett for claiming she cheated on her new fiance and New Jersey Nets basketball player Kris Humphries with Lockett, reports Reality TV World<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, don’t believe everything you read. The tabloids and weekly magazines will do ANYTHING to sell copies, and in this case they decided to run a false story, knowing they had absolutely no proof that it was real. It’s disgusting, and I will be taking legal action against In Touch magazine and Bret Lockett,” Kardashian\u00a0wrote<\/span><\/strong><\/a> <\/span><\/strong>on her website on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0In Touch \u2014\u00a0which\u00a0published the\u00a0report as the cover story of its new issue with a “Stop the Wedding! Kim Caught Cheating!” headline \u2014 Kardashian had a five-month affair with Lockett behind her basketball beau’s back. The alleged relationship consisted of “kinky texts and wild phone sex,” TMZ reported<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0Lockett also reportedly told the magazine he “knew this was a game to her and this is what she does,” adding that she “pursued” him.<\/p>\n

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians<\/em> and Kourtney and Kim Take New York<\/em> star’s lawyer threatened to sue In Touch if it ran the story\u00a0after the magazine contacted her representatives\u00a0about the report,\u00a0according to a demand letter obtained by TMZ.\u00a0 In the letter, the attorney claimed the allegations “are, at a minimum, damaging, defamatory, and an invasion of her privacy.”<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0Lockett\u00a0is standing by his allegations and insisting he did have an affair with Kardashian.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, he\u00a0told<\/strong><\/span><\/a> NESN, a New England regional sports cable network,\u00a0he\u00a0discussed the alleged relationship with In Touch\u00a0because\u00a0the magazine\u00a0insisted it was going to publish the story regardless of whether he commented. As a result, Lockett\u00a0said\u00a0he felt it was important to share the truth about Kardashian’s alleged infidelity.<\/p>\n

“I’m saying the story in the tabloid is true, and that my relationship with Kim is true as well. [In Touch] said, ‘We’re going to run it whether you like it or not. Do you have anything to say? Because Kim and their publicists are going to be able to make a statement.’ Either I could have said nothing, and just let it be and then have me look crazy, or I could have told them the full truth and let it be written as told.
