Public transport vehicles departing from Gyumri have not been operating since this morning, said Armenian National Congress (HAK) activist Vahagn Khachatryan, adding this is always the case when HAK is holding a rally in the Armenian capital of Yerevan as it is today.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the taxi drivers, as always, take advantage of the opportunity and raise their fares. Normally, a taxi ride from Gyumri to Yerevan costs 2,000 to 2,500 [drams], but on the days of a rally, when public transport vehicles are removed from their route, taxi drivers charge 3,500 to 4,000 [drams],\u201d he said, speaking to Epress.am.<\/p>\n
Public transport vehicles departing Etchmiadzin for Yerevan were empty for a two-hour period this morning and only took passengers from Yerevan to Etchmiadzin, then, as told to Epress.am by an Etchmiadzin resident, \u201cThere was an order to work as per usual.\u201d<\/p>\n
