{"id":119737,"date":"2011-08-16T19:01:33","date_gmt":"2011-08-16T14:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=119737"},"modified":"2011-08-16T19:01:33","modified_gmt":"2011-08-16T14:01:33","slug":"43-released-hak-activists-now-face-charges-refused-to-give-testimony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/08\/16\/43-released-hak-activists-now-face-charges-refused-to-give-testimony.html","title":{"rendered":"4+3: Released HAK Activists Now Face Charges, Refused to Give Testimony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three Armenian National Congress (HAK) activists who were detained on Aug. 9 and arrested the following day \u2014 Areg Gevorgyan, Sahak Muradyan and David Kiramijyan \u2014 have been charged with hooliganism under RA Criminal Code Article 258 Section 3 Point 1.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Epress.am, Areg Gevorgyan said on Tuesday they were called in to the main Republic of Armenia Police investigation department that deals specifically with important cases, where they were informed of the charges against them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We refused to give any testimonies due to the following reason: since the RA Police, with the launched criminal case, becomes a party to the conflict, then it cannot carry out an objective investigation, and this agency where we were called for an examination is the main investigation department of the police.
