{"id":127913,"date":"2011-09-19T10:31:20","date_gmt":"2011-09-19T05:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=127913"},"modified":"2011-09-19T10:32:17","modified_gmt":"2011-09-19T05:32:17","slug":"us-to-provide-17-million-in-assistance-to-armenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/09\/19\/us-to-provide-17-million-in-assistance-to-armenia.html","title":{"rendered":"US to Provide $17 Million in Assistance to Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Within the framework of the $50 million Assistance Agreements signed in 2010 between the US and Armenian governments, USAID\/Armenia Mission Director Jatinder Cheema and RA Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan signed on Sept. 17, 2011 the third tranche of US assistance to Armenia providing $8.3 million to further support Armenia\u2019s economic growth and $8.8 million to advance its health and social reform, according to a press release issued by the US Embassy in Armenia on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Under the Economic Growth Agreement, USAID will help promote a competitive and diversified private sector in Armenia. The program will foster more productive enterprises and value chains, improve policy and regulatory environments, strengthen workforce skills, and enhance public-private sector partnerships.
