{"id":129084,"date":"2011-09-22T17:20:59","date_gmt":"2011-09-22T12:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=129084"},"modified":"2011-09-22T17:22:16","modified_gmt":"2011-09-22T12:22:16","slug":"us-cop-show-borrows-a-page-from-strauss-kahn-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/09\/22\/us-cop-show-borrows-a-page-from-strauss-kahn-case.html","title":{"rendered":"US Cop Show Borrows a Page from Strauss-Kahn Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new season of &#8220;Law and Order: Special Victims Unit&#8221; begins Wednesday on NBC television with a storyline that might sound familiar to a certain French politician, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/afp\/article\/ALeqM5ihvy0dFVZoA0sF5ugkn6UDix8tVA?docId=CNG.b43cf7712b3e3615415dd853f4b7098d.2f1\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">AFP reports<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Italian-born actor Franco Nero will guest star as &#8220;an arrogant, high-ranking French diplomat accused of sexually assaulting a Sudanese hotel maid whose credibility soon comes under scrutiny,&#8221; TV Guide magazine said on its website.<\/p>\n<p>The plot mirrors Dominique Strauss-Kahn&#8217;s brush with a Guinean chambermaid who alleged he had raped her in a New York hotel suite, only for the case to collapse when prosecutors questioned her truthfulness.<\/p>\n<p>Set in New York, &#8220;Law and Order: Special Victims Unit&#8221; started shooting its new season in July, two months after then-IMF director Strauss-Kahn was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo.<\/p>\n<p>With criminal charges dropped, Strauss-Kahn appeared on French television over the weekend and acknowledged &#8220;a moral failing&#8221; on his part.
