{"id":129452,"date":"2011-09-23T19:36:48","date_gmt":"2011-09-23T14:36:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=129452"},"modified":"2011-09-26T16:36:21","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T11:36:21","slug":"official-statement-on-earlier-police-chase-no-sons-of-officials-among-those-detained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/09\/23\/official-statement-on-earlier-police-chase-no-sons-of-officials-among-those-detained.html","title":{"rendered":"Official Statement on Earlier Police Chase: No Sons of Officials Among Those Detained"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An official statement on the Police of the Republic of Armenia website has confirmed earlier reports of police tracking down a group of unidentified individuals this morning for committing a &#8220;serious crime&#8221; in the Armenian capital.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.police.am\/am\/news\/hamakarg\/4792-2011-09-23-21-59-23\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">statement<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the group was planning on carrying out another crime which they failed to do thanks to police intervention. The group put up armed resistance, which police were able to put a stop to. Police found and seized from members of the syndicate a large quantity of arms and ammunition.<\/p>\n<p>A criminal case with charges of RA Criminal Code Article 316 Section 2 (&#8220;resistance to a representative of the authorities, committed with violence&#8221;) and Article 235 (&#8220;illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices&#8221;) has been launched, and 13 people have been arrested.
