Possible 10 Remain Trapped in Landslide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following is a list of missing persons believed to be trapped in the landslide on the Vanadzor-Bagratashen road in Armenia&#8217;s Tavush marz (province) which occurred at around 7 pm on Sunday evening:<\/p>\n<p>1. Armen Sorsumatyan, 38, Yerevan resident<br \/>\n2. Mekhak Sorsumatyan, 47, Yerevan resident<br \/>\n3. Norik Mirzoyan, 72, resident of Lchkadzor village<br \/>\n4. Artur Gurgen Hakobyan, 19, citizen of Georgia<br \/>\n5. Gurgen Movses Hakobyan, 62, citizen of Georgia<br \/>\n6. Gena Surmanidze, 50, citizen of Georgia<br \/>\n7. Nukri Surmanidze, 30, citizen of Georgia<br \/>\n8. Vardan Karapetyan, 66, resident of the city of Gyumri<br \/>\n9. Artak, 41, resident of the city of Gyumri (surname currently being verified)<br \/>\n10. Tigran Mejinyan, 25, citizen of Armenia<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/1tavush.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-132123 aligncenter\" title=\"1tavush\" src=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/1tavush.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/1tavush.jpg 450w, https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/1tavush-300x233.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Previously believed to be missing Mamikon Gasparyan, 49, and Alexander Baghdasarov, 27, established contact with their relatives and informed them they are in Georgia and were not on site when the landslide struck.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tavush.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-132121 aligncenter\" title=\"tavush\" src=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tavush.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tavush.jpg 450w, https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/tavush-300x233.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Search and rescue work continues, <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mes.am\/index.php?obj_id=596\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">reports Armenia&#8217;s Ministry of Emergency Situations<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/10\/03\/video-8%E2%80%9310-vehicles-swallowed-by-landslide-no-casualties-reported-yet.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">previously reported<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a landslide struck the 83rd kilometer mark on the Yerevan-Vanadzor M6 highway, leaving several vehicles trapped underneath, the head of the Tavush marz (province) rescue department said Sunday. A 6m-long section of the road has become unsurpassable, while downed electric poles resulted in blackouts in the city of Ayrum and the village of Lchkadzor.<\/p>\n<p>Rescue services are asking members of the public to refrain from using the Vanadzor-Bagratashen road.
