We need to have a model, good and liberal constitution,&#8221; Ar\u0131n\u00e7 said in a televised interview Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest threats to Turkey, he continued, is ethnic nationalism \u2014 thus, he did not want anything that would recall ethnical nationalism in the new constitution.<\/p>\n<p>A committee set up to prepare Turkey&#8217;s new constitution will hold its first meeting on Oct. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey is currently using the 1982 constitution, which was ratified by popular referendum during the military junta of 1980-1983.
