{"id":135988,"date":"2011-10-18T17:47:54","date_gmt":"2011-10-18T12:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=135988"},"modified":"2011-10-18T17:50:48","modified_gmt":"2011-10-18T12:50:48","slug":"no-military-solution-to-nagorno-karabakh-says-us-diplomat-in-baku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/10\/18\/no-military-solution-to-nagorno-karabakh-says-us-diplomat-in-baku.html","title":{"rendered":"No Military Solution to Nagorno Karabakh, Says US Diplomat in Baku"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US is strongly convinced that there is no military solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns told journalists in Baku on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The US is committed that on the highest level our government is doing everything we can to renew and strengthen the Minsk Group process,&#8221; Burns noted, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.trend.az\/news\/karabakh\/1946264.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">reports Trend news agency<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Burns said the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was an important subject of his discussions in Baku today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We approached with a strong conviction that there is no military solution to the conflict,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The US approaches the conviction that the status quo is not sustainable, added the US deputy secretary of state who is on Baku for one day only.<\/p>\n<p>The disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh broke away from Azerbaijan after a bloody war in the 1990s and is populated mainly by ethnic Armenians.
