Meanwhile, Russia risks losing its position in the region, although [Russian President] Dmitry Medvedev still entices [Azerbaijani President] Ilham Aliyev to fruitless meetings and discussions. But the head of Azerbaijan, who inherited political sense from his father, knows that these meetings won&#8217;t lead to anything and are just a waste of time. Perhaps, beginning in 2012, the US will take on the initiative, and the next meeting of the presidents will be held upon the initiative of [US State Secretary] Hillary Clinton and Turkish diplomat [and the country&#8217;s foreign minister Ahmet] Davutoglu. In case of that meeting fails, Baku will seriously consider solving the conflict by force.
