{"id":140218,"date":"2011-11-09T11:26:30","date_gmt":"2011-11-09T07:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=140218"},"modified":"2011-11-09T11:28:04","modified_gmt":"2011-11-09T07:28:04","slug":"west-hollywood-approves-ban-on-most-fur-sales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/11\/09\/west-hollywood-approves-ban-on-most-fur-sales.html","title":{"rendered":"West Hollywood Approves Ban on Most Fur Sales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>West Hollywood&#8217;s City Council voted Monday to approve a modified version of the ban on fur sales they gave initial approval to in <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2011\/sep\/21\/local\/la-me-0921-fur-ban-20110921\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">September<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2011\/11\/west-hollywood-fur-ban.html\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>City officials made changes to the ordinance to address concerns from some business groups. The modified ban includes exemptions for sales of used fur products and sales by nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p>The ban must now return for one final vote. If passed, it will take effect Sept. 21, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent version of the ban passed 3-1 with\u00a0Abbe Land abstaining and\u00a0John Heilman casting the dissenting vote.
