{"id":142198,"date":"2011-11-16T16:40:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-16T12:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=142198"},"modified":"2011-11-16T16:45:26","modified_gmt":"2011-11-16T12:45:26","slug":"video-5th-century-odzun-church-threatens-to-collapse-says-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/11\/16\/video-5th-century-odzun-church-threatens-to-collapse-says-foundation.html","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: 5th Century Odzun Church Threatens to Collapse, Says Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Though today the Surb Mariam Astvatsatsin (&#8220;Holy Mary Mother of God&#8221;) Church in the northern Armenian village of Odzun offers regular mass, conducts wedding, baptism and funeral ceremonies, the 1500-year-old church threatens to collapse, according to a press statement issued by the Hovhannes Imastaser Catholicos Oznetsi (Catholicos John of Odzun) charitable foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation notes that the church&#8217;s roof, walls, and foundation are seriously damaged.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 18, the Foundation signed a memorandum with Armenia&#8217;s Ministry of Culture to repair and restore the holy site.
