Epress.am called the municipality to find out why this year the city began this work early.<\/p>\n<p>Artur Gevorgyan, head of the Information and Public Relations Department at Yerevan City Hall, said this was in order to avoid traffic ahead of New Year celebration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Since there&#8217;s more movement in the city during those days and so that there aren&#8217;t traffic jams, it was decided to place the Christmas tree early [this year]. Furthermore, the holiday spirit will be passed on to the city earlier. I think it&#8217;s not bad.
