Forecasts predict that there will be a population of 1.5 million in Armenia in the middle of this century, and it&#8217;s not clear whether all will be ethnic Armenians or not, said sociologist Aharon Adibekyan, speaking to journalists in the Armenian capital today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;UN ethnographers estimate that nations on earth are divided into 4 categories: growing, retaining their number, diminishing in number but not vanishing, and vanishing peoples,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about Armenians being divided, Adibekyan said that Armenians cannot gather around any one thing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our nation has one group dance, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kochari\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>kochari<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>, a dance of shepherds. What remains is the circle dance and that, someone comes, dances and leaves, and everyone claps,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The sociologist pointed out that Armenia&#8217;s Yezidi community is rapidly growing and in 50 years they will comprise a large part of the country&#8217;s population.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison&#8217;s sake, Adibekyan also citing Azebaijan&#8217;s population figures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Based on our estimates, [Azerbaijan&#8217;s population] should be 6 million, but they say it&#8217;s 9 million 116 thousand.
