{"id":156981,"date":"2012-01-27T17:25:17","date_gmt":"2012-01-27T13:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=156981"},"modified":"2012-01-27T17:26:41","modified_gmt":"2012-01-27T13:26:41","slug":"turkeys-first-lady-snubs-french-ambassador%e2%80%99s-wife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2012\/01\/27\/turkeys-first-lady-snubs-french-ambassador%e2%80%99s-wife.html","title":{"rendered":"Turkey&#8217;s First Lady Snubs French Ambassador\u2019s Wife"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In reaction to the French Senate\u2019s approval of a bill that criminalizes denying genocide (including the Armenian Genocide), Turkey&#8217;s first lady Hayr\u00fcnnisa G\u00fcl (pictured) has not invited Sabine Bili, the wife of French ambassador to Turkey Laurent Bili, to a lunch meeting, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.todayszaman.com\/news-269708-turkish-first-lady-snubs-french-ambassadors-wife.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Today&#8217;s Zaman<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> reports.<\/p>\n<p>G\u00fcl will host a luncheon for female ambassadors, wives of ambassadors and female representatives of international organizations serving in Ankara.<\/p>\n<p>G\u00fcl will deliver a speech welcoming 90 guests to the event, which will be held at the \u00c7ankaya presidential palace next Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters at the 25th anniversary of the Zaman daily, Bili confirmed that his wife has not been invited to the lunch and called on Ankara to remain calm. \u201cFrance attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Turkey.
