{"id":159520,"date":"2012-02-07T14:22:23","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T10:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=159520"},"modified":"2012-02-07T14:22:23","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T10:22:23","slug":"prosperous-armenia-boycotts-parliamentary-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2012\/02\/07\/prosperous-armenia-boycotts-parliamentary-session.html","title":{"rendered":"Prosperous Armenia Boycotts Parliamentary Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Prosperous Armenia (BHK) parliamentary faction boycotted today&#8217;s National Assembly meeting, reports RFE\/RL&#8217;s Armenian service (<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.azatutyun.am\/archive\/news\/20120207\/2031\/2031.html?id=24476037\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Azatutyun<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Prosperous Armenia MP Naira Zohrabyan criticized the ruling Republican Party of Armenia&#8217;s (HHK) reaction to her party&#8217;s position on the RA Law on Restrictions on Cash Transactions, considering HHK member&#8217;s statements on the matter to be inappropriate. Note, BHK didn&#8217;t participate in yesterday&#8217;s voting and the law was not adopted.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.azatutyun.am\/content\/article\/24475612.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">RFE\/RL&#8217;s Armenian service<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the bill involved a package of draft amendments to several economic laws. The most important of them would ban cash transactions among businesses exceeding 3 million drams ($7,770). The Armenian government says the measure would improve tax administration and make tax evasion more difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Zohrabyan said an &#8220;nonconstructive political situation has been created.&#8221; HHK announced a 20-minute recess, after which the meeting continued, but to discuss other matters.
