Armenia\u2019s Military Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan, who was taken to Nairi Medical Center on the evening of Feb. 3, continues to receive treatment in the intensive care unit. Officially, he is said to have problems with his blood pressure, but is now already well.<\/p>\n
The fact that the military prosecutor was still in ICU was confirmed by a Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) correspondent who visited the medical center. The reporter was able to catch a glimpse of Kostanyan, who was lying flat and unmoving on the bed. His eyes were open and, according to the reporter’s impression, he was following the comings-and-goings on the other side of the door with interest.<\/p>\n
Nairi Medical Center deputy director Siranush Martirosyan shared a few details of Kostanyan’s health. Though she didn’t agree to being audio-recorded, she said that the military prosecutor was diagnosed with a hypertensive crisis; that is, a severe increase in blood pressure that can lead to a stroke.<\/p>\n
The deputy director, however, assured the reporter that the patient’s state did not get to a transient ischemic attack (a pre-stroke or mini stroke). Kostanyan’s condition, according to Martirosyan, is stable, his pressure has been regulated, and this, from the first day he was brought to the center. Asked then why is he in ICU, Martirosyan said this is only to ensure his comfort so that visitors don’t disturb him too much.<\/p>\n
The doctor also mentioned that Kostanyan regularly receives drip injections intravenously.<\/p>\n
