{"id":165201,"date":"2012-02-29T12:21:05","date_gmt":"2012-02-29T08:21:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=165201"},"modified":"2012-02-29T12:21:05","modified_gmt":"2012-02-29T08:21:05","slug":"police-arrest-25-anonymous-hackers-in-four-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2012\/02\/29\/police-arrest-25-anonymous-hackers-in-four-countries.html","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest 25 Anonymous Hackers in Four Countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police in Latin America and Europe have arrested 25 suspected members of the Anonymous hacking group, according to Interpol.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Spain carried out the arrests and seized 250 items of IT equipment and mobile phones, Interpol says.<\/p>\n<p>Those arrested are aged between 17 and 40, the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-latin-america-17195893\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">BBC<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> reports.<\/p>\n<p>The operation follows cyber attacks on Colombian and Chilean websites.<\/p>\n<p>Interpol says the websites of the Colombian Ministry of Defence and the presidency, Chile&#8217;s national library, and the Chilean electricity company Endesa were attacked.<\/p>\n<p>Spanish authorities say four people were arrested as part of the operation in Spain, in Madrid and Malaga.<\/p>\n<p>Two of them remain in custody, while the other two, including a minor, were released on bail.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s interior ministry said that one of the four arrested was the alleged manager of Anonymous&#8217; computer operations in Spain and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous is a loose international network of online activists which describes itself as an &#8220;internet gathering&#8221;.
