{"id":165531,"date":"2012-03-01T11:48:24","date_gmt":"2012-03-01T07:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=165531"},"modified":"2012-03-01T11:48:24","modified_gmt":"2012-03-01T07:48:24","slug":"turkeys-alevi-citizens-concerned-with-marks-on-their-doors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2012\/03\/01\/turkeys-alevi-citizens-concerned-with-marks-on-their-doors.html","title":{"rendered":"Turkey&#8217;s Alevi Citizens Concerned with Marks on their Doors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The doors of a number of houses belonging to members of the Alevi community in the eastern Turkish province of Ad\u0131yaman were marked with crosses by unknown people, Republican People\u2019s Party (CHP) deputy H\u00fcseyin Ayg\u00fcn announced on his Facebook page yesterday, the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/alevi-citizens-concerned-with-mark-on-their-doors.aspx?pageID=238&amp;nID=14991&amp;NewsCatID=339\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Hurriyet Daily News<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Ramazan Sodan, the governor of Ad\u0131yaman, also confirmed the claims and said the doors of the home of some Alevi citizens in the province had also been marked with numbers and letters. Sodan said police are searching for those responsible for drawing the crosses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis district is a center for Alevis, and such incidents have never happened here before. Security forces are investigating it carefully,\u201d Sodan said.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of Ad\u0131yaman\u2019s Karap\u0131nar district noticed the signs on the doors of Alevi community members, and informed the police, according to the reports.
