{"id":168398,"date":"2012-03-14T21:21:42","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T17:21:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=168398"},"modified":"2012-03-14T21:22:38","modified_gmt":"2012-03-14T17:22:38","slug":"burberry-sues-armenian-coffee-chain-jazzve-over-trademark-infringement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2012\/03\/14\/burberry-sues-armenian-coffee-chain-jazzve-over-trademark-infringement.html","title":{"rendered":"Burberry Sues Armenian Coffee Chain Jazzve Over Trademark Infringement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The British luxury brand Burberry Ltd. has filed proceedings against Armenian coffee chain Jazzve, the coffee company&#8217;s attorney Grigor Minasyan informed Epress.am today.<\/p>\n<p>The British company believes that Jazzve is infringing on its trademark by <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jazzve.com\/en\/about.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">draping chairs in the cafes<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> and restaurants it owns with the Burberry signature pattern, which in February 2011 was registered with the RA Ministry of Economy&#8217;s Intellectual Property Agency.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jazzve&#8217;s representative, his client doesn&#8217;t belief that the company has violated any rights.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Intellectual Property Agency will discuss the issue of clarifying the trademark. We&#8217;re now waiting for the outcome of that examination. If we&#8217;re not satisfied with the response, we will appeal to other expert companies,&#8221; Minasyan said.<\/p>\n<p>Burberry Ltd. has appealed to the Court of General Jursdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan with the demand to terminate the illegal use of its trademark.
