Ashton Kutcher is to play Steve Jobs in a forthcoming indie biopic. Variety claimed that the “Two and a Half Men” star will play Jobs in the independent film “Jobs”. Joshua Michael Stern is to direct a script by Matt Whiteley, and filming is likely to start in May.<\/p>\n
Sony Pictures is also working on a separate film, based on Walter Isaacson\u2019s official biography of the Steve Jobs.<\/p>\n
Variety reports that Kutcher will star in a film that looks at Jobs\u2019 life \u201cfrom wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple, where he became one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of our time\u201d.<\/p>\n
Although Kutcher is best known for his roles in “Two and a Half Men”, and as the former partner of actress Demi Moore, he has earned critical acclaim in David Mackenzie\u2019s “Spread” and Emilio Estevez\u2019s “Bobby”, which dramatized the shooting of Robert F. Kennedy. He has also starred in the popular comedy “No Strings Attached” and in “New Year\u2019s Eve”.<\/p>\n
When Steve Jobs died last year, Kutcher posted a quote from the entrepreneur on Twitter, writing \u201cDesign is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. – Steve Jobs RIP.\u201d The tweet also indicates that Kutcher owns an iPhone.<\/p>\n
Stern has previously directed Kevin Costner in “Swing Vote”, a 2008 Disney election comedy, and “Neverwas”, starring Aaron Eckhart.<\/p>\n
