The United Armenians party, which has entered the parliamentary race on a party-list basis, is a pro-state party, Ruben Avagyan, leader of the party with a list of only 29 election candidates, told Epress.am today.<\/p>\n

“That is, if a pro-government party serves the chair and its pocket, then a pro-state party has to serve the national interest, the rule of law and legislation, which serves the people. The first thing on which our ideology is based is national interest,” he said.<\/p>\n

The party introduces voters to its activities through its weekly paper and website<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and it is currently setting up election campaign headquarters. Avagyan pointed out that 7,000 copies of the party’s newspaper are printed weekly.<\/p>\n

According to the law, said the United Armenians party leader, the authorities are obliged to allocate areas for them where they can meet with voters.<\/p>\n

The party doesn’t accept the idea of organizing rallies on the street to meet with voters; United Armenians will make use of airwaves and campaign offices.<\/p>\n

On the matter of voters accepting bribes, in Avagyan’s opinion, not all voters will take that route.<\/p>\n

“We believe that there are voters who believe that power has to be returned to the people. Today, power lies beneath the heels of oligarchs and there is a segment [of society] that believes in our country, in Armenia. Those voters, we’re convinced, will vote for us \u2014 those voters will win.<\/p>\n

“We’ll show the way. If we don’t restore people’s faith in government, we won’t be able to solve any issues,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
