{"id":241365,"date":"2013-10-16T17:00:25","date_gmt":"2013-10-16T13:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=241365"},"modified":"2013-10-16T17:00:25","modified_gmt":"2013-10-16T13:00:25","slug":"%e2%80%98i-won%e2%80%99t-pay-and-i-won%e2%80%99t-register%e2%80%99-attorneys-protest-new-state-tax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2013\/10\/16\/%e2%80%98i-won%e2%80%99t-pay-and-i-won%e2%80%99t-register%e2%80%99-attorneys-protest-new-state-tax.html","title":{"rendered":"\u2018I Won\u2019t Pay and I Won\u2019t Register\u2019: Attorneys Protest New State Tax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">A dozen attorneys in Armenia have begun a campaign protesting a new mandated registration fee, some of whom since yesterday have already issued the following statement on their Facebook page:<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;Respecting the dignity of the legal profession, I say no to the draft laws circulated by the RA Ministry of Justice that provide for the maintenance of the state registry of lawyers and an obligation of attorneys to pay 60,000 AMD [about $147 USD] in state taxes annually.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;I declare that I won&rsquo;t register in the registry maintained by the state and I won&rsquo;t pay the state tax.
