{"id":243998,"date":"2013-11-21T12:28:01","date_gmt":"2013-11-21T08:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=243998"},"modified":"2013-11-21T13:10:36","modified_gmt":"2013-11-21T09:10:36","slug":"company-directed-arrested-for-embezzling-state-funds-newspaper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2013\/11\/21\/company-directed-arrested-for-embezzling-state-funds-newspaper.html","title":{"rendered":"Company Director Arrested for Embezzling State Funds: Newspaper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Accused of supporting large-scale fraud and abusing his position, Samvel Hovhannisyan, the director of Kentron Makrutyun LLC, which is under Yerevan City Hall&#39;s jurisdiction, was arrested about two weeks ago.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLocal daily <em>Hraparak<\/em> compares Hovhannisyan&#39;s case with that of the former chief of the State Social Security Service, Vazgen Khachikyan, who was arrested in 2012. &nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Hraparak<\/em> reports that Kentron Makrutyun also retained &quot;dead souls,&quot; naming as employees people who never worked there, while the director and others pocketed their pay. There were other atrocious instances of embezzlement from the state budget: money laundering, falsifying employees&#39; lists, and showing expenses that were never incurred.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPolice spokesperson Armen Malkhasyan yesterday did not respond to the newspaper&#39;s question on the amount of the embezzlement. According to information in <em>Hraparak<\/em>&#39;s possession, calculations are still being made, and the list of the accused is not yet complete.
