Several members of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.armecofront.net\/\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Pan-Armenian Environmental Front<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (PAEF) were also present at the meeting.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to a statement issued by PAEF, Karbi residents are against the construction. They argue that the a hydroelectric plant will consume so much water from the Aparan reservoir that there won&#39;t be any irrigation water for their apple orchards. Meanwhile, sometimes there is not enough irrigation water for them even today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to the environmentalists, during the nearly two-hour long meeting, there was still no response to the question of whether there is a project under which this construction should be carried out.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&quot;The villagers themselves didn&#39;t know eventually what is being built: a hydroelectric plant, a waterline, a reservoir, a fishpond, or something else? The marzpet and the representative of the developer, on one hand, insisted that what is being built is not a nuclear power plant, and on the other hand, guaranteed that the construction of a hydroelectric plant will not reduce the villagers&#39; irrigation water,&quot; PAEF wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/armecofront\/posts\/10201782511266515?stream_ref=10\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>its Facebook page<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<iframe width=\"425\" height=\"344\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6tEfLzaLUTA?wmode=transparent\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen> <\/iframe><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Karbi residents are against the construction.
