{"id":250522,"date":"2014-03-12T12:47:49","date_gmt":"2014-03-12T08:47:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=250522"},"modified":"2014-03-14T10:27:57","modified_gmt":"2014-03-14T06:27:57","slug":"moscow-court-orders-armenias-nairit-plant-to-pay-25-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2014\/03\/12\/moscow-court-orders-armenias-nairit-plant-to-pay-25-million.html","title":{"rendered":"Moscow Court Orders Armenia&#8217;s Nairit Plant to Pay $25 Million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">The Moscow Arbitration Court upheld the Interstate Bank&#39;s claim to confiscate $25.183 million from Armenia&#39;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2014\/02\/12\/nairit-plant-employee-protest-unpaid-wages-outside-presidents-office.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Nairit Plant<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the only manufacturer of synthetic rubber in the former USSR, reports the <a href=\"http:\/\/rapsinews.ru\/international_news\/20140311\/270902000.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Russian Legal Information Agency<\/strong><\/span><\/a> [RU].<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe defendant, Nairit Plant, was the guarantor of the loan provided by the bank to Rhinoville Property Ltd., the primary shareholder&nbsp;of the plant. The Moscow Arbitration Court in January upheld the Interstate Bank&#39;s claim to recover $107.95 million from Rhinoville Property Limited. In particular, the court ordered the recovery of $68.6 million of the principal loan plus interest and penalty fees.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIt was noted in Tuesday&#39;s court session that the lawsuit was filed against Nairit, as the guarantor of the loan, for the recovery of $16.763 million in interest and $8.419 million in penalty fees. According to the bank&#39;s representative, Rhinoville Property Ltd. ceased paying interest on the loan in January 2010.
