According to <a href=\"http:\/\/shirakcentre.org\/hy\/news\/20736--------video\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Shirak Centre NGO<\/strong><\/span><\/a> [AM], one reason these families are not eligible for compensation from the state is because they didn&#39;t lose homes they owned during the 1988 Spitak earthquake. Among them are a dozen or so families that were renting when the earthquake struck. Though many of these families in their places of work were included in the housing waiting lists, their right to receive apartments was not preserved.
