{"id":253475,"date":"2014-05-19T11:24:31","date_gmt":"2014-05-19T07:24:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=253475"},"modified":"2014-05-29T13:54:33","modified_gmt":"2014-05-29T09:54:33","slug":"man-who-opened-fire-in-outdoor-yerevan-market-turned-himself-in-to-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2014\/05\/19\/man-who-opened-fire-in-outdoor-yerevan-market-turned-himself-in-to-police.html","title":{"rendered":"Man Who Opened Fire in Outdoor Yerevan Market Turned Himself In to Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Gor Arakelyan, the son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia MP <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parliament.am\/deputies.php?sel=details&amp;ID=1103&amp;lang=eng\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Karo Karapetyan<\/strong><\/span><\/a> who on Saturday opened fire near the Yerevan outdoor market known as Vernissage, yesterday surrendered to police, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/news.am\/arm\/news\/209822.html\" style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>reports News.am<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"> [AM], citing the police and adding that Arakelyan arrived at the station with a Makarov pistol.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to News.am, Gor Arakelyan, 29, who lives in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.progresstech.ru\/en\/about\/group\/progresstech-armenia\/\"><span style=\"color:#0000CD;\"><strong>Progresstech-Armenia<\/strong><\/span><\/a> building, wanted to exit the underground parking lot with his Toyota Landcruiser, but Valeriy Hovhannisyan and Norayr Harutyunyan blocked the road with their BMW X6 for nearly half an hour, obstructing traffic.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGor Arakelyan, in whose car was his wife (MP Karo Karapetyan&#39;s daughter) and child, asked them to give way, but Hovhannisyan and Harutyunyan refused. Arakelyan then got out of his car and an altercation ensued, as a result of which Arakelyan pulled out a gun and started shooting. Apart from Hovhannisyan and Harutyunyan, injured were also random passers-by Albina Badalyan, Myasnik Hayrapetyan, and Mnatsakan Sukiasyan.
