{"id":261592,"date":"2015-01-16T11:36:24","date_gmt":"2015-01-16T07:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=261592"},"modified":"2015-01-16T12:32:51","modified_gmt":"2015-01-16T08:32:51","slug":"mp-confirms-gyurmi-murder-suspect-is-still-in-armenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2015\/01\/16\/mp-confirms-gyurmi-murder-suspect-is-still-in-armenia.html","title":{"rendered":"MP Confirms, Gyumri Murder Suspect Is Still in Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Last night, near the Shirak marz (province) prosecutor&#39;s building in Gyumri, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) MP Martun Grigoryan stated that he visited the Russian military base with one of the protesters and saw the suspect in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/01\/12\/gyumri-family-murdered-russian-military-base-soldier-primary-suspect.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">the massacre<\/span><\/a> of six members of the Avetisyan family, Russian soldier <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/01\/13\/russian-soldier-admits-guilt-in-gyumri-massacre-russian-and-armenian-prosecutors-in-negotiations-over-investigation.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">Valery Permyakov<\/span><\/a>. Recall, that one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/01\/15\/gyumri-protesters-present-their-demands-to-authorities.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">demands<\/span><\/a> of the Gyumri protesters was for the authorities&nbsp;to provide evidence&nbsp;that Permyakov had not left Armenia.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">MP Martun Grigoryan characterized Valery Permyakov to journalists saying, &ldquo;He looks like a moron, how else can I describe him.&rdquo; Grigoryan said that Permyakov was held in&nbsp;solitary confinement.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">&ldquo;We saw his face, he looked just like the photos they were spreading. It was for sure that jackass. We saw that bastard,&rdquo; said Grigoryan.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">The MP added that what happened in Gyumri was not desirable. He stressed that there were people taken into custody and a few police officers have been transferred to Yerevan for surgery.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Recall, last night, January 15, hundreds of people gathered in front of the Russian consulate in the Armenian city of Gyumri, demanding that the suspect in the killings of 6 members of a local family, Russian soldier Valery Permyakov, as well as the investigation of the case be handed over to the Armenian law enforcement bodies.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Riot police used batons&nbsp;and stun grenades to stop the protesters from closing on the consulate building. As a result of clashes between the protesters and the police forces, 10 people have been injured, another 12 have been detained.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">The heavy skirmishes occurred after protesters attempted to garner guarantees from the Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan that Permyakov would be handed over to the Armenian authorities.
