{"id":263480,"date":"2015-03-17T13:26:15","date_gmt":"2015-03-17T09:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=263480"},"modified":"2015-03-17T14:06:13","modified_gmt":"2015-03-17T10:06:13","slug":"%e2%80%9cwhy-doesn%e2%80%99t-armenia-recognize-holodomor%e2%80%9d-ukrainian-mp-about-the-armenian-genocide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2015\/03\/17\/%e2%80%9cwhy-doesn%e2%80%99t-armenia-recognize-holodomor%e2%80%9d-ukrainian-mp-about-the-armenian-genocide.html","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWhy Doesn\u2019t Armenia Recognize Holodomor?\u201d Ukrainian MP On the Armenian Genocide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">The Armenian authorities have already made their decision and it has absolutely no connection with the European Union but instead is tied to Moscow, said Ukrainian Parliament MP, Co-chair of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Borys Tarasyuk in an interview&nbsp;with&nbsp;<em>Zhoghovurd<\/em> daily while in Yerevan for the Euronest sessions taking place from March 17-18.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe noted that even if Armenia were to sign any document with the EU in the future, it would not drastically change Armenia&#39;s and the Armenian authorities&#39; orientation towards Moscow.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhen asked by a <em>Zhoghovurd<\/em> journalist as to what he thinks about Turkey&rsquo;s decision to commemorate the anniversary of the battle of Gallipoli on April 24, Tarasyuk stressed that he did not wish to get involved in Armenian-Turkish, or Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Ukrainian MP recalled that in the 1930&rsquo;s about 7 million Ukrainians died during a planned famine (Holodomor) during Stalin&rsquo;s reign of terror. According to him, Ukraine expresses its condolences for any people who have been subject to mass murder; &ldquo;However, now I ask you, why does Armenia deny the existence of Holodomor in all possible ways?
