{"id":265379,"date":"2015-05-27T14:33:05","date_gmt":"2015-05-27T10:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=265379"},"modified":"2015-05-27T14:35:43","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T10:35:43","slug":"police-officers-during-protest-in-yerevan-more-than-double-the-number-of-participants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2015\/05\/27\/police-officers-during-protest-in-yerevan-more-than-double-the-number-of-participants.html","title":{"rendered":"Police Officers During Protest in Yerevan More Than Double the Number of Participants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tOn Wednesday, May 27, the protest action of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/02\/11\/protesting-mother-of-dead-soldier-fainted-after-police-aggression.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">parents of soldiers<\/span><\/a> who died under non-combat conditions in the Armenian army attracted a great deal of media attention: protest participants were being interviewed by reporters of 6-7 media outlets.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tToday, the parents of the deceased soldiers, whose protest had not received much media coverage over the past few years, told about the criminal proceedings into the deaths of their sons, emphasizing the main aspects of their protest &#8211; expert analysis showed their sons had been murdered; investigators have hushed up the cases; officials have been indifferent and unable to give substantial answers to their questions.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/rallymothers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"rallymothers\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265371\" height=\"350\" src=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/rallymothers.jpg\" width=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/rallymothers.jpg 450w, https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/rallymothers-300x233.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnahit Mkrtchyan, mother of Arayik Avetisyan who died in the army in 2001, voiced their main demand: a meeting with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan, who, as stated by Mkrtchyan, bears responsibility for what happens in the Armenian army.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tApart from the journalists and Nelly Harutyunyan, member of Public Monitoring Group at the Detention Facilities of the RA, only 1-2 persons had come to the protest action on the opposite sidewalk of the RA presidential residence on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/05\/20\/%E2%80%9Cthe-army-is-a-meat-grinder%E2%80%9D-citizens-show-solidarity-with-parents-protesting-non-combat-army-deaths-photo-video.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">Baghramyan 26<\/span><\/a>.
