{"id":265585,"date":"2015-06-04T10:36:07","date_gmt":"2015-06-04T06:36:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=265585"},"modified":"2015-06-04T10:36:07","modified_gmt":"2015-06-04T06:36:07","slug":"iran-armenia-pipeline-to-be-sold-to-gazprom-armenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2015\/06\/04\/iran-armenia-pipeline-to-be-sold-to-gazprom-armenia.html","title":{"rendered":"Iran-Armenia Pipeline to Be Sold to Gazprom Armenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">The Meghri-Kajaran section of the pipeline transporting natural gas from Iran is being is being purchased by Gazprom Armenia, &nbsp;Armenia&rsquo;s national gas distribution network owned by Russian Gazprom, RA Deputy Energy Minister Ara Simonyan told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azatutyun.am\/content\/article\/27052147.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">RFE\/RL&rsquo;s Armenian service (Azatutyun.am)<\/span><\/a> on Wednesday, June 3.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe 41-kilometer section runs from the Iranian border to the southeastern Armenian town of Kajaran. The rest of the pipeline completed in 2008 is already owned by the Gazprom-Armenia operator.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Armenian government and Gazprom, as stated by Simonyan, have already signed a &ldquo;tentative agreement&rdquo; on the sale of the section. He refused to disclose its financial terms or specify when a final deal could be signed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA spokeswoman for Gazprom-Armenia, Shushan Sardaryan, confirmed this information. Sardaryan revealed that the tentative accord was finalized in 2007 with a $30 million &ldquo;prepayment&rdquo; made by the company at the time.
