The issue is to be discussed at the June 17 session of PSRC. The Commission published the agenda of the session and the draft bill on its official website yesterday, June 9, according to which a kilowatt-hour of energy will cost 48.78 drams during the daytime (previously &#8211; 41.85 drams), and 38.78 drams &ndash; the nighttime (previously &ndash; 31.85).<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRecall, in May 2015, Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) appealed to the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission with a claim to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/06\/02\/armenian-official-confirms-electricity-tariff-hike.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">increase the electricity tariff<\/span><\/a> by 17 drams per kWh .\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn May 27, thousands of people <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/05\/28\/%E2%80%9Chigh-voltage%E2%80%9D-thousands-march-in-yerevan-in-protest-of-electricity-tariff-hike-photo.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">took to the streets of Yerevan<\/span><\/a> to protest against the rise in electricity prices. The protest rally, as stated by the demonstrators, had one message: not a penny more, no compromises. The demonstrators marched through central Yerevan streets towards the Prime Minister&#39;s office at the Republic Square, chanting slogans such as &ldquo;We are not going to pay off your debts!&rdquo;, &ldquo;You owe us!&rdquo;, &ldquo;No to robbery in our own homes!&rdquo;, &ldquo;Serzhik, leave!&rdquo;, &ldquo;Free, independent Armenia.&rdquo;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe next protest march is scheduled for June 19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The RA Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) is planning to increase the tariff for electricity supplied to consumers by nearly 7 drams.
