{"id":266789,"date":"2015-07-15T14:38:25","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T10:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=266789"},"modified":"2015-07-15T14:38:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-15T10:38:57","slug":"armenian-protesters-address-message-to-%e2%80%9crepublican-party-chairman-serzh-sargsyan%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2015\/07\/15\/armenian-protesters-address-message-to-%e2%80%9crepublican-party-chairman-serzh-sargsyan%e2%80%9d.html","title":{"rendered":"Armenian Protesters Address Message to \u201cRepublican Party Chairman Serzh Sargsyan\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Some of the participants of the sit-in protest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/07\/06\/armenian-police-dismantle-barricade-urge-citizens-to-return-central-yerevan-to-%E2%80%9Cits-beautiful-state%E2%80%9D.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">dispersed by the Armenian police on July 6<\/span><\/a> have addressed on Wednesday a message to the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, introducing the&nbsp;further steps in their fight against the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/06\/17\/armenian-protesters-throw-eggs-at-psrc-office-after-commission-decides-to-increase-electricity-tariff-by-nealy-7-drams.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">hike in electricity tariffs<\/span><\/a>: their main demand that electricity rates be decreased, the protesters said, remained unchanged.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe message was read out on central Baghramyan Avenue &ndash; at former demonstration site &#8211; by Davit Sanasaryan, one of the leaders of the protest movement and member of opposition &ldquo;Heritage&rdquo; party, who was taken into police custody during the July 6 dispersal. Their message, Sanasaryan said, was &ldquo;addressed to [Republican Party of Armenia] Chairman Serzh Sargsyan,&rdquo; and has been authored by the members of the newly-formed &ldquo;Rise Up, Armenia!&rdquo; initiative comprised of those demonstrators who spoke out against meeting Sargsyan, as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/06\/28\/266430.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">remained on Baghramyan Avenue on July 28<\/span><\/a>, while some other sit-in participants moved to the nearby Freedom Square.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe fight, as stated in the message,&nbsp;will proceed in three phases: in the first phase, information leaflets explaining that the demand to reverse the price increase is legitimate will be handed out to all families in Armenia.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;In the second phase [of the fight], we will block the main streets in Yerevan and other cities. Then it will become clear to everyone that police brutality is powerless against the peaceful rallies of citizens.
