{"id":271061,"date":"2016-02-15T13:49:45","date_gmt":"2016-02-15T09:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=271061"},"modified":"2016-02-15T13:50:44","modified_gmt":"2016-02-15T09:50:44","slug":"armenias-recently-enlarged-communities-elect-local-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2016\/02\/15\/armenias-recently-enlarged-communities-elect-local-leaders.html","title":{"rendered":"Armenia&#8217;s Recently Enlarged Communities Elect Local Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Residents of Armenia&#39;s Lori, Syunik, and Tavush provinces voted on Sunday in the first ever elections into the local self-government bodies of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2015\/05\/18\/loss-of-sovereignty-referendum-causes-uncertainty-for-armenian-voters.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">recently enlarged communities<\/span><\/a> of Tatev, Tumanyan, and Dilijan.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRepublican Party member Armen Santrosyan was elected the leader of Tavush&#39;s community of Dilijan, which now&nbsp;comprises former Dilijan, Haghartsin, Teghut, Gosh, Aghavnavank, Khachardzan, and Hovk communities. As reported by the Central Election Commission, nine candidates from Dilijan were elected&nbsp;into the community&#39;s 15-member Council of Elders, and 3, 2, 1 candidates from Teghut, Haghartsin, and Gosh, respectively. Hovk, Aghavnavank, and Khachardzan will not have representation in the Council.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnother Republican candidate Levon Zavaryan was elected the head of &nbsp;Lori province&#39;s community of Tumanyan. Three of the elected Council members are from Tumanyan, two &#8211; from Lorut. The communities of Martz, Qarinj, Shamut, and Ahnidzor will each have one representative. Tumanyan&#39;s Council of Elders will not have a member from Atan.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tResidents of the Syunik&#39;s community of Tatev, comprising the former Shinuhayr, Tatev, Halidzor, Harchis, Svarants, Khot, Tandzatap, Kashuni communities, &nbsp;elected acting Tatev mayor Republican Murad Simonyan as their new leader. 5 candidates from Shinuhayr were elected into the 11-member Council of Elders, two &ndash; from Khot.
