{"id":273289,"date":"2016-06-22T14:54:31","date_gmt":"2016-06-22T10:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=273289"},"modified":"2016-06-23T19:20:58","modified_gmt":"2016-06-23T15:20:58","slug":"authorities-want-to-isolate-sefilyan-from-society-lawyer-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2016\/06\/22\/authorities-want-to-isolate-sefilyan-from-society-lawyer-says.html","title":{"rendered":"Authorities Want to Isolate Sefilyan from Society, Lawyer Says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Zhirayr Sefilyan, a leading member of Founding Parliament and New Armenia opposition movements who was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2016\/06\/20\/prominent-armenian-oppositionist-arrested-over-alleged-takeover-plot.html\"><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\">taken into custody<\/span><\/a> on June 20 for allegedly plotting an armed takeover of communication buildings and facilities in Yerevan, is expected to be formally charged by Thursday, Sefilyan&#39;s lawyer Gevorg Davtyan said in conversation with Epress.am.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe lawyer believes that the oppositionist will most likely be imprisoned since authorities &ldquo;are trying to isolate Sefilyan from the society.&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tZhirayr Sefilyan, according to Davtyan, has already been questioned, and his legal team have&nbsp;filed a motion with the investigative body to be provided with case materials related to Sefilyan &quot;to be able to develop a further defense strategy.&quot;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRecall, according to a statement issued by Armenia&rsquo;s Investigative Committee Monday, Sefilyan had allegedly formed an armed group, plotting to organize an armed takeover of the capital&#39;s important communication buildings and structures, including Yerevan&rsquo;s television tower.
