{"id":275801,"date":"2016-11-29T14:17:04","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T10:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=275801"},"modified":"2016-11-29T14:17:04","modified_gmt":"2016-11-29T10:17:04","slug":"school-in-armenian-village-evacuated-due-to-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2016\/11\/29\/school-in-armenian-village-evacuated-due-to-fire.html","title":{"rendered":"School in Armenian Village Evacuated Due to Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Fire erupted on Tuesday morning in of the classrooms of the school in the village of Vardenis in Armenia&#39;s Aragatsotn province, the ministry of emergency situations reported, stating that the building has been evacuated by rescuers. &ldquo;91 students and 20 teachers have been removed from the school building,&rdquo; officials said.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTwo months ago, on September 27, students of the same school had&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2016\/09\/28\/vardenis-students-boycott-classes-to-protest-unsafe-conditions-of-school-building.html\"><span style=\"color:#000080;\">boycotted classes<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, refusing to continue studying at unfit and unheated classrooms. Classes, however, resumed after regional authorities promised to finish the construction of the new school building &#8211; the foundation of which was laid back in 2012 &ndash; by October 10.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn Monday, November 28, Epress.am spoke with Ashot Davayan, the head of the regional administration&#39;s urban development department, who insisted that the building was ready and needed only to be equipped.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tVardenis village head Kamo Petrosyan, for his part, told Epress.am that they were using diesel fuel to heat the old school building. &ldquo;We&#39;re lucky it has &nbsp;not gotten too cold yet.
