{"id":277713,"date":"2017-01-23T12:43:33","date_gmt":"2017-01-23T08:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/epress.am\/?p=277713"},"modified":"2017-01-23T12:44:20","modified_gmt":"2017-01-23T08:44:20","slug":"man-charged-with-aiding-yerevan-armed-group-in-taken-to-hospital-in-critical-condition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/01\/23\/man-charged-with-aiding-yerevan-armed-group-in-taken-to-hospital-in-critical-condition.html","title":{"rendered":"Man Charged with Aiding Yerevan Armed Group Taken to Hospital in Critical Condition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>70-year-old Khachatur Gichyan, who was arrested last summer on suspicion of providing a truck to the members of the \u201c<span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2016\/07\/24\/%e2%80%98daredevils-of-sasun%e2%80%99-artists-masseurs-and-civil-rights-activists-video.html\">Daredevils of Sasun<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u201d armed group that seized a police station in Yerevan on July 17, is in a critical condition, Gichyan&#8217;s lawyer, Tigran Sargsyan, told Epress.am on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sargsyan, the prisoner has been transferred to the Convicts&#8217; Hospital, after suffering a sharp health deterioration last week; \u201cHis condition is critical, and spending a few days at the Convicts&#8217; Hospital will not help him. Whenever he is brought to a courtroom to extend his detention period, he is taken back in ambulance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gichyan has told his lawyer that there are only 6 beds in the 12-person cell he is being held in, and that all the inmates there smoke, which leads to a further worsening of his health state. \u201cI have appealed to the office of the Human Rights Ombudsman to transfer Gichyan to a cell for non-smokers where he will also be able to lie down and rest.
