Epress.am surveyed 91 households in Yerevan and the country&#8217;s provinces to find out the average room temperatures in the houses, using the sample of a 2015 survey conducted by the Economic Development and Research Center, in which the households were divided into four groups based on their average indoor temperature: unbearably cold (below 7 degrees); somewhat bearable (8-14 degrees); close to comfortable (15-18 degrees); comfortable (19-21).<\/p>\n<p>The majority of our respondents said they did not heat their houses evenly; the main heated area, according to the participants, is the dining hall, while there are rooms that are left unheated altogether. Many respondents in rural areas said they had run out of firewood \u2013 which would in past years last them the entire winter &#8211; in January.
