{"id":280149,"date":"2017-04-21T15:28:22","date_gmt":"2017-04-21T11:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/epress.am\/?p=280149"},"modified":"2017-04-21T15:28:22","modified_gmt":"2017-04-21T11:28:22","slug":"yerevan-court-does-not-dare-issue-verdict-against-pro-government-tv-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/04\/21\/yerevan-court-does-not-dare-issue-verdict-against-pro-government-tv-company.html","title":{"rendered":"Yerevan Court Does Not Dare Issue Verdict Against Pro-Government TV Company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first instance court of Yerevan&#8217;s Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts was scheduled to pass its verdict in the case filed against pro-government Armenia TV company by opposition political activist and Karabakh War veteran <strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2016\/06\/20\/prominent-armenian-oppositionist-arrested-over-alleged-takeover-plot.html\">Jirair Sefilyan<\/a><\/span><\/strong> on Thursday. The judge, however, announced during the hearing yesterday that the court has decided to review the case in light of new evidence, Sefilyan&#8217;s lawyer, Tigran Hayrapetyan, said in conversation with Epress.am on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawyer, the court decision was rather unexpected since sufficient evidence has already been presented to support Sefilyan&#8217;s claim. The court therefore, Hayrapetyan said, is merely trying to buy time since it \u201chas no freedom to issue a verdict against Armenia TV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s obvious that they can do nothing but grant Sefilyan&#8217;s claim; that&#8217;s why they are purposely delaying the process,\u201d the lawyer noted, informing that the next court hearing will be held on May 3.<\/p>\n<p>Recall, the jailed coordinator of the opposition Founding Parliament movement demands that Armenia TV refutes the information presented in a June 2016 episode of its \u201cAcute Angle\u201d program.
