{"id":280912,"date":"2017-06-01T18:08:21","date_gmt":"2017-06-01T14:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/epress.am\/?p=280912"},"modified":"2017-06-01T18:09:01","modified_gmt":"2017-06-01T14:09:01","slug":"yerevan-mayor-wants-to-punish-jailed-oppositionists-son-for-holding-unauthorized-gatherings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/06\/01\/yerevan-mayor-wants-to-punish-jailed-oppositionists-son-for-holding-unauthorized-gatherings.html","title":{"rendered":"Yerevan Mayor Wants to Punish Jailed Oppositionist\u2019s Son for Holding \u2018Unauthorized Gatherings\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/03\/02\/yerevan-sit-in-demonstrators-being-threatened-and-harassed-by-police.html\">Shahen Harutyunyan<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, son of opposition leader and political prisoner Shant Harutyunyan, might be subjected to administrative penalty for organizing protest demonstrations to demand that those guilty for the death of <strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/03\/16\/supporter-of-yerevan-gunmen-dies-in-hospital.html\">Artur Sargsyan<\/a><\/span><\/strong> are punished.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Harutyunyan received a letter from the Administrative Court, which said that Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan had filed 5 complaints against him, demanding that Harutyunyan is held responsible for holding gatherings without having notified the head of the community. Harutyunyan\u2019s alleged offense is punishable by a fine in an amount of 100 to 300 times the minimum wage, and 2 of the 5 complaints are already being dealt with by judges Aghasi Darbinyan and Karen Zarikyan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was nothing to notify about because our protest action was completely spontaneous,\u201d Harutyunyan said in conversation with Epress.am.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a prior conviction with 4 years of probation.
