They are carrying out an order to destroy my future and are thereby hiding the murderer of 15-year-old Davit. Simultaneously, they are ruining the life of my two-month-old [son] Davit. I\u2019m innocent, and they are well aware of this. But I\u2019m \u2018guilty\u2019 of not having a sponsor or bribe money,\u201d Vanadzor resident <strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/07\/18\/appeal-court-overturns-acquittal-ruling-sentences-vanadzor-man-to-7-years-behind-bars.html\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Karen Kungortsev<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>, who was recently sentenced to 7 years in prison, a year after he was acquitted by the Lori first instance court of the attempted murder of 15-year old Yerevan handball player Davit Hovakimyan, wrote in a letter from prison.<\/p>\n<p>Recall, the verdict of not guilty was handed down by Lori District Court judge Narine Hovakimyan in April 2016, despite the prosecution having had demanded a 9.5 years\u2019 imprisonment for the defendant. Early last week, however, Armenia\u2019s Court of Appeal \u2013 headed by judges Mher Arghamanyan, Manushak Petrosyan and Mkhitar Papoyan \u2013 granted the prosecution\u2019s appeal and sentenced Kungortsev to a 7-year imprisonment.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m innocent, and they are well aware of this.
