{"id":282761,"date":"2017-11-16T14:51:06","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T10:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/epress.am?p=282761"},"modified":"2017-11-17T14:27:45","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T10:27:45","slug":"domestic-violence-bill-in-armenia-undergoes-sudden-and-significant-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/11\/16\/domestic-violence-bill-in-armenia-undergoes-sudden-and-significant-changes.html","title":{"rendered":"Domestic Violence Bill in Armenia Undergoes Sudden and Significant Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the Thursday sitting of the Armenian government, justice minister Davit Harutyunyan presented the final version of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2017\/10\/11\/concerns-around-domestic-violence-prevention-bill-unjustified-experts-say.html\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">the controversial bill<\/span><\/a><\/strong> on preventing domestic violence\u0589 the current draft is called \u201con prevention of family violence, protection of persons subjected to family violence, restoration of family cohesion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final version published on the government\u2019s official website shows that the bill has undergone several significant amendments since it was first put to public discussion early last month. For one, the authors of the bill now think that the future law should be guided by the principle of \u201cstrengthening traditional family values and restoring family cohesion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, a number of concepts and mechanisms for protecting victims of domestic violence have been removed from the draft.
