Mrs. Anna, a resident of a nearby apartment block, told Epress.am today that the repair have been ongoing since Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went there this afternoon to check whether they had not stopped. The workers are still there; they have brought pipes and other equipment,\u201d she said. According to the woman, the works are being carried out by Veolia Djur company<\/p>\n<p>Recall, the residents of the apartment blocks near the Nubarashen prison <span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2018\/02\/14\/cover-your-noses-lets-go-to-the-wastewater.html\">have been protesting<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for years that the prison\u2019s broken sewer was causing foul stench in the entire neighborhood and making it nearly impossible for the locals to breathe. Yerevan authorities, however, have thus far failed to properly address the issue and replace the worn-out pipes.<\/p>\n<p>At a Tuesday meeting of Yerevan\u2019s Council of Elders, opposition Yerkir Tsirani members tried to bring the issue to the attention of mayor Taron Margaryan by \u201c<span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"http:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2018\/02\/13\/nubarashen-residents-send-sewage-waste-as-gift-to-yerevan-mayor.html\">gifting<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u201d him with jarfulls of sewage.
