This march is dedicated to her,&#8221; were the opening remarks of the march.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-299202\" src=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/marti8_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accompanied by &#8220;Rhythms of Resistance&#8221; collective, the march started at Metro &#8220;Yeritasardakan&#8221; and proceeded through the center of Yerevan, including the Metro and continued on Baghramyan Avenue. In a contrasting allusion to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2019\/10\/14\/armenia-is-my-hearth-people-are-my-family-banners-cost-26-mln.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government-promoted slogans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, protesters held banners reading: &#8220;Women are killed at home (hearth), exploited in the family.&#8221; Other banners criticizing systems of exploitation, such as &#8220;The nation is not an army, Amulsar is not a mine, women are not a commodity&#8221; sparked social media discussions after the march.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-299143\" src=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The march approached the gates of the National Assembly, the usual spot where right-wing ultranationalist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2019\/12\/16\/pro-domestic-violence-activists-attack-women.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deniers of domestic violence collect signatures<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against the Istanbul Convention to Combat and Prevent Domestic Violence. While Armenia has signed on to the Convention and has adopted a law to prevent domestic violence, the Convention has not yet been sent to the Parliament for ratification.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-299137\" src=\"https:\/\/epress.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Denied by the police entrance into the park of the National Assembly, the protesters read out over 3 dozen names of women who fell victim to domestic homicide and the circumstances of their murders at the police-fenced gates of the National Assembly.
