{"id":304039,"date":"2020-06-25T12:54:21","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T08:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/epress.am\/?p=304039"},"modified":"2020-06-25T12:55:17","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T08:55:17","slug":"ombudsmans-statement-on-labor-violations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2020\/06\/25\/ombudsmans-statement-on-labor-violations.html","title":{"rendered":"Ombudsman&#8217;s Statement on Labor Violations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Armenia&#8217;s Human Rights Defender&#8217;s office is mandated to intervene in cases involving violation of human rights by state bodies, nonetheless, the office continues receiving numerous complaints from citizens regarding violation of their labor rights. The ombudsman&#8217;s office has released a brief on the nature of labor violation complaints it received in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following major issues are identified in the complaints.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) employers do not conduct a final calculation of due payments when termination the job,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) employees are unjustifiably dismissed from work,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3) employers do not employ disciplinary actions,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4) employers retain unjustified amounts from workers&#8217; salaries,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5) employers do not inform of termination of job contracts in due timing as is required by law,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6) employers transfer workers to another job without their consent and many other violations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Widespread and systemic issues include the following violations too:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> employers do not sign job contracts with newly hired workers,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">employers force the workers to write resignation letters,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">employers do not pay for overtime work.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a lack of awareness of the legal regulations related to labor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also no institutions, other than courts, where citizens can turn to for recovering their impaired labor rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Employers do not conduct a final calculation of due payments when termination the job, employees are unjustifiably dismissed from work,\u00a0employers do not employ disciplinary actions&#8230;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"tstyn_error":""},"categories":[10,66047],"tags":[77879,79164,77852,78882],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/304039"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=304039"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/304039\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=304039"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=304039"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=304039"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
