Ankara Mayor Melih G\u00f6<\/span>k\u00e7<\/span>ek has continued a series of accusations against Republican People\u2019s Party (CHP) leader Kemal K\u0131<\/span>l\u0131\u00e7<\/span>daro\u011f<\/span>lu, this time saying that his mother is Armenian, reports Turkey’s Cumhurriyet.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In response, K\u0131<\/span>l\u0131\u00e7<\/span>daro\u011f<\/span>lu said, “It’s not important, my mother can be of Armenian, Turkish or Greek descent.” However, the exchange of accusations didn’t end there. Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan, turning his attention to the G\u00f6<\/span>k\u00e7<\/span>ek-K\u0131<\/span>l\u0131\u00e7<\/span>daro\u011f<\/span>lu feud, said that “man’s height is not important, but his roots are important.”<\/p>\n

The opposition directed serious criticism toward the country’s prime minister. CHP officially stated that “Erdogan’s words are a reflection of a tendency toward discrimination in his actions.”<\/p>\n
