On Sept. 25, Prosperous Armenia is planning on proposing to the National Assembly a draft law on youth issues, said Prosperous Armenia MP Vahe Enfiajyan at a press conference today.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to him, the draft law will also refer to to the law on conscription in military service.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“When this law is circulated, it creates an uproar mainly in university students in their final years and post-graduate students. We propose to clearly specify the percentage of post-graduate students that are actually engaged in science and publish that data,” said Enfiajyan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Heritage Party MP Armen Martirosyan, also participating in the press conference, noted that education, science and the army should be developed in such a way so that they are not obstacles for each other.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“I don’t think that it’s possible to resolve youth issues through [establishing] law; it’s not a prescription for salvation,” he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Martirosyan also noted that the problem is not only that political parties have entered universities, but also that only the ruling parties are presented there.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“The opposition can’t organize meetings with youth. Here as well, as everywhere, is a monopoly. We have a very politicized, but not politically literate [i.e. informed] student body,” he said. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
