A number of French companies, while meeting with Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Y\u0131<\/span>ld\u0131<\/span>z on Wednesday, have expressed their interest in participating in the Nabucco project.<\/p>\n

Jean Lemierre, chair of the French-Turkish Businessmen Council, who headed the delegation from Movement of the French Enterprises (MEDEF), confirmed the news, saying that France would like to join the project.<\/p>\n

According to Today’s Zaman, Y\u0131<\/span>ld\u0131<\/span>z said that Turkey’s doors are always open to French investors.<\/p>\n

Recall that Turkey’s government earlier had vetoed French companies from participating in the project, considering France’s position on the Armenian Genocide.<\/p>\n

The Nabucco project is a proposed natural gas pipeline from Turkey to Austria, diversifying natural gas suppliers and delivery routes for Europe. The main supplier of gas will be Azerbaijan.
