From Oct. 1\u20137, a festival dedicated to the love of books will be taking place in the Jazzve cafe in Yerevan’s Freedom Square (near the Opera) and in the Khnko Apor library.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The festival aims to create an environment where reading will have its specific role and significance in the modern citizen’s thought and intellect, say organizers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Among other events to kick start the festival today was a reading for children whereby German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt read a fairy tale to children in the Khnko Apor library.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The ambassador said he quite enjoyed the audience. He also expressed his admiration, noting that the young students have a good command of the German language.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“In the beginning, many parents were concerned that it’s likely that the children won’t understand the fairy tale; however, I noticed that not only did they understand, but also at the end they asked me questions in German,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The German ambassador also mentioned that it’s the first time he was reading a fairy tale for the students. In the coming days, stories will be read also by the ambassadors of Italy, France, the US, India, Iran and China in Armenia.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The festival, which officially launches tomorrow, is organized by Actual Art cultural union, Khnko Apor Library, and Mkhitar Sebastatsy educational complex.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
